I am Tanisha Basra, your 2023-2024 New York City Regional Vice President and Co-Reporter. I am currently a senior at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School and will be graduating as a certified medical assistant. I aspire to be an anesthesiologist. Medicine is a way to serve the people and for me the first step into this service has been HOSA. Through volunteering at Elmhurst Hospital I have created several experiences. Through being an active member of my community, may it be my school community or simply my neighborhood serving others is a privilege. Another aspect of life I am grateful for having is cinema. I create unforgettable moments for myself through cinema. I am a huge movie geek. As Tim Burton once said, “Movies are like an expensive form of therapy for me.” I will watch anything from animated frills to completely gory horror films no matter the language. A genre which has stuck out to me no matter what language I watch a movie in is Psychological Thrillers. The sheer excitement of not knowing what's going to happen next is very thrilling.
